The Couture Clutch Amour in electric pink double satin and antique silver-toned hardware is part of a limited edition series. It is made in Italy.
The base of the clutch is made in steel for a strong, rigid structure.
Between the metal base and the satin cover, a light padding layer fleshes out the product.
Once the two shells have been covered with an inner nappa lining, the bijou is applied to the front face and secured from the inside with a counterplate and screws. Finally, the two shells are connected by a metal hinge.
The bijou comes from Balenciaga's 50th Couture Collection and is inspired by a brooch from Cristóbal Balenciaga’s Winter 1967 Couture Collection. Originating from a seaside town, M. Balenciaga often referenced the nautical world in his designs. Here, an octopus motif is reimagined to suggest a heart shape.
A removable chain allows the clutch to be worn like a bag, on the shoulder or across the body.
The top closure features a metal hinge with an engraved logo.
Two weeks of manufacturing are required to create this unique piece.
Dimensions are l20 x h13 x w5 centimeters.
