Opera Pump

The Opera Pump in black calfskin is from Balenciaga's 52nd Couture Collection. It is made in Italy.

The Opera Pump is a revisiting of a traditional women’s high heel shoe. It is entirely handmade, following an artisanal process, with a single internal cutout. Its extreme lines are made possible thanks to internal prosthetics, placed between the lining and the upper. It is inspired by the Space Pump from Balenciaga's 51st Collection.

A brush-on patina is followed by a hand-applied coating to give the leather a shiny finish.

The Opera Pump is set on an 11-centimeter covered heel that is drawn back, creating an optical illusion.
