The shield was engineered by Mercedes AMG F1 applied science using ink-tinted, coated polyurethane that was molded and polished by hand. Its aerodynamics, anti-fog technology, and optimized, breathable comfort were developed over several months. It is considered a fashion accessory rather than an optical tool.

All parts are made by hand using artisanal processes.
