Amour Brooch in antique silver-toned brass, embellished with crystal rhinestones, with a stainless-steel needle is from Balenciaga's 50th Couture Collection. It is made in Paris.
The casting structure is enriched with Maison-created rhinestone chains, mounted and soldered individually by hand.
The large strass stone has been cut specifically for the piece. It is composed of 142 rhinestones mounted in a prong setting.
The Amour Brooch, first introduced during the 50th Couture Collection, is inspired by a brooch from the Winter 1967 collection. Influenced by his seaside origins, Cristóbal often referenced the nautical world in his designs; here, an octopus motif is reimagined to suggest a heart shape.
20 hours of work are required to create this unique piece.
Dimensions are 5.8 cm x 7.7 cm x 1.9 cm for a 64 grams weight.
